POETIC LIFE SKETCH ART
Leah Santa Lucia
A Circle of Haiku Snapshots
July 28, 2011

Artistic
Introduction
Leah Santa Lucia Opening Haiku

End of July
Sylph; cannot voice
the space of her pose.

I always thought stars
in funhouse galaxies* were
strange, she amazes.

* Some Deep Sky objected are stretched and
Contorted by hidden gravitational sources

Mobius pretzel
Combines with, meets feminine.
Her shape is puzzle.

Aphrodite star.
Venus is not so piercing,
as stark as her glow.

Angular romance.
Summer gold explodes in depth,
Outside the Big Bang.

End of Multiverse –
that query puzzles souls less
Than painting her form.

Stringy hair tangles,
Yet a thickness also seen.
Paradox in strands.

Intersecting thought
and aesthetics wed to form
new\ artistics.

Silk Road: only here
can I sketch intense beauty
and discuss Malays.

She dances without
movement – enigmatic
Preternatural.

Meteor show.
I recall from far childhood.
Now her streaks return.

"You can buy clothes or you can buy art."

Gertrude Stein,
who bought much of the latter at bargain prices, ,
whose collection, including works by Picasso and Matisse, among many others, is now priceless.

My Own Note: Thank God she did! Clothes don’t last. Art does!

  1. I wanted to thank Elizabeth for giving me an opportunity to join in with her group for this month of July. It was a real blast to be a part of the good art energy. I would of loved to continue the energy, but unfortunately I was unable to find work or a place to live in the south bay. I will be going back to North Carolina in a few days. I wish all of you fellow artists that was there my best.
    Sincerely,
    Jeff Barnett
